Pros & Cons of Focus only on writing articles for now

I'm thinking about getting novel writing out of my mind and instead focus on articles for the next 8 years
1. I won't have to worry about readings.
2. I won't have to worry about publicity at all if I just focus on writing articles. I never have to talk!
3. I can just outline scenarious as I'm inspired and keep them in a safe place.
4. I can just continue to study the genre while I'm writing self help
5. I enjoy being a consumer and fan of romance more than the action steps necessary to be a producer of this work
1. No one does readings anymore
2. I may feel like something is missing
3. What if I lose the scenarious. I've already thrown out some of the "Let me be your angel" notes
4. I feel like I should be doing both.
